Views but no clients? You're making entertainment and calling it education. A trend gets a laugh. A fix gets a message.
Most trainers think they're teaching. But it's like the loudest class in the gym - music up, everybody high-fiving, and not one person walks out knowing how to fix their squat. And it makes sense. Everybody tells you what to post for views, and nobody tells you what to post for clients. What makes it sneaky is you don't think you're doing skits for fun. You think you're showing personality and building a brand.
One of the biggest creators out there tested this with a client who was averaging 4 to 5 thousand leads per video. A lead is somebody who raised their hand and gave you their email or number, because they want your help. They switched to educational content. They stopped making people laugh and started making people fix something.
One video pulled in over 20,000 leads and over a million views. It ended up their number three video of the year. So teaching didn't cost them views. They got the views and the leads. I watched trainers earn $15 a session while their clients paid the gym $600 to $700 a month.
The smart ones left to go on their own. Usually, they came back. They could train. They just didn't know how to get clients online. Views alone didn't fix it for them. And views alone won't fix it for you either.
If you want a quick way to know which side you're on, so your content starts bringing in clients, here's a quick test. Pull up your last ten posts. For each one, ask yourself one question. Is this here to entertain, like a trend or a skit? Or does it teach somebody how to fix something? Be honest, usually most trainers get a little quiet when they do this.
It'll take you about 30 minutes by yourself. Somebody's going to answer your clients' questions online this week, and it might as well be you. So here's a challenge that makes your next video answer something your clients actually need.
Think of one question a client asked you. Maybe between sets, maybe in the locker room, maybe by text. You already answer these all day. Now you film the answer. It's not a trend, and it's not a skit, it's just the fix.
Instead of performing for people who scroll past, you're now answering the person who's ready to book. And if you'd rather not guess which question to film first, that's what we figure out with you - work with me.
In the 90-Day Build we make and post your content, answer your leads and close them on sales calls.
